Hestenbeck was added to the Blixt shooting estate portfolio in 2021. Comprised on a diverse series of canyons, Hestenbeck has a wide variety of drives and presentation. The 2500 acres includes deep valleys; perfect for high pheasant, sweeping hillsides for sporting partridge and a range of untapped potential. Towering aspen trees, thick pine forests, broad open plateaus provide perfect habitat for the development of America’s driven shooting estates.

August 15 through November 28th each year
The Blixt gamekeeping team, who’s experience and training in the United Kingdom brings heritage, craft and tradition to Hestenbeck. Each thrilling drive on a day of shooting is created with a combination of planted and tended game cover and habitat management, the coordinated efforts of the 12-15 beaters and gamekeepers strategically moving through the cover and land management that is creating the next generation of shooting estates that stand shoulder to shoulder with the worlds best; one drive at a time.
Hestenbeck days of driven partridge from mid-August to late November and driven pheasant from September to November. August is primarily red legged partridge, which makes it the month to come if partridge is what you are after; from September pheasants and partridge overlap and a day can be shown as a mixed bag.
There are twenty core drives at Hestenbeck, with more in development as the estate matures. Among them: Kings, The Crage, White Bark, Freddy’s Bank, Wee Scotsman, Petey’s, Flat Rock, Stonkers, Bear Claw, Obi Rose, Apple Core and Norfolk Knee. Each sits differently on the shoot — the canyons, towering aspen groves and open tops of 2,500 acres give the team variety from one drive to the next, and no two days are ever quite the same.
Heritage isn’t just history—it’s a living philosophy that shapes every decision we make. Our team is deeply rooted in European sporting tradition, yet brings fresh perspective and innovation to keep that tradition vibrant for modern sportspeople who value authenticity and excellence. Hestenbeck is where that tradition and innovation are producing driven shooting in America.

Please contact us for the most current availability. The driven season runs from 15 August to 28 November, opening with partridge, with pheasant joining the bag from September. Days and pegs run on a returning basis: guests who have taken a date keep it from year to year until they release it, so availability is limited and most guests book about a year ahead. Remaining dates are usually taken up between August and November of the preceding year, so it is worth asking early.
