Instruction

Blixt & Co founder, Lars Magnusson’s background in the shooting sports originated in shooting instruction, first in Sweden, then at the prestigious West London Shooting School. From private instruction, small group instruction and clinics, we hope to encourage all level of shooter to expand their skill and enjoy the game.

Blixt & Co. offers private and small-group shooting instruction, based on the Percy Stanbury method taught at the West London Shooting School, for beginners through experienced shots, at its Teton Valley, Idaho headquarters, in the field on a shoot day, or at clinics held around the country. Traditional driven shooting, while customary in Europe, is relatively new to North America. The sport is best appreciated – and safely and successfully carried out – when the basic tenets of shooting are carefully passed on to new enthusiasts. Blixt & Co. has considerable experience in doing just that. Part of the education lies in the understanding of shooting etiquette and sportsmanship on the line. The remaining education deals with the actual principles of shooting.

This latter piece of education can be provided in a number of locations — at Blixt & Co.’s headquarters, on a shoot arranged through the syndicate and, of course, at one’s own shooting estate. In any case, the principles are the same. With instruction from beginners through experts, a number of vital subjects are taught: Gun safety, line safety, shoot day expectations and proper care for equipment and the land.

In all cases, the Percy Stanbury method of shooting education is utilized, which was established at the West London Shooting School, and honed over the last century. Blixt & Co.’s educational services can be called upon at any time — regardless of personal experience or location.

IN THE FIELD INSTRUCTION

Perhaps the most beneficial form of this service is when our instructors accompany a client on a shoot day. Like a golf pro playing a round with a determined learner, such a learning experience is unrivaled.

If you are interested in field instruction for any driven day, we can arrange it with ample advance notice.

SMALL GROUP INSTRUCTION

Small groups, from 2 to 3 students, offer great learning opportunities. Throughout the summer season, we offer shooting school clinics as well as customized small group lessons. Designed for the skill level and goals of the group, we can also offer multi-day lessons.
