First things first, confirm your dates. Blixt & Co. works on a return business model, that basically means, once you have secured dates, they are yours from year to year, until you release them. This allows you to plan on the same dates each year. More on How to Book.

Sometimes the hardest part of organizing a shooting trip is managing schedules. Send your invites early. If you are a guest, respond quickly.

GUEST LIST & ITINERARY

The Blixt Team is always available to help you with any planning or questions. Please complete the pre-trip planning forms that provide our team with all of the information we need to ensure you and your guests are comfortable. These forms include your guest list, travel itinerary, guns, and any special needs or requests.

LODGING & HOSPITALITY

Blixt & Co will provide comfortable, elegant hospitality and lodging, complete with our private chef and all of the attention to detail you have come to expect. Teton Valley, Idaho boast a rich agricultural history with some of the most stunning views of the Grand Tetons. Visits to Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Park are easy day trips for those non-shooting guests or for extended travel. The Magnusson family is opening their personal homes for guests.

NON-SHOOTING GUESTS

We encourage non-shooting guests! We are delighted to help plan additional activities for those interested in exploring the area and region. From fly-fishing and art classes to shopping and spas, there is much to see and do.

GETTING HERE

As with all our guests, we gladly provide transportation from our three area airports; Jackson Wyoming, Idaho Falls Idaho and Driggs Idaho. Commercial air service is available from Jackson and Idaho Falls and private and charter air service is available in Driggs.

AIRPORTS

Daily, non-stop air service to Jackson is available from Chicago, Minneapolis, Denver and Salt Lake City and weekly non-stop service from Atlanta, Newark and Dallas.

We also recommend Idaho Falls airport for commercial service, particularly later in the season as the weather is often more stable.

We highly recommend the airport in Driggs for FPO.

Guns

If you or any of your guests need guns, let us know as we have house guns available. All of our loaders are trained to double gun, so if you would like to shoot a pair, we encourage you to bring them. We have several gauges of ammunition available: 12, 16, 20, 28.

Equipment

We provide gun slips and loading bags, so there is no need to pack these bulky items. Your loader will clean your guns for you every day.

Footwear

Depending on the time of year, footwear will vary. Early season (August-September) is typically dry, although we can get afternoon storms. Late season (October-November) we start to get snow in October and by end of November we can have several inches on the ground. Wellies can be too hot in early season, but helpful in later season. Good, sturdy, comfortable shoes or boots are key to a comfortable day in the field. If you plan to walk up or if you are attending a Rough Shoot, be prepared to walk significant distances, possibly in the snow.

Clothing

We encourage traditional dress, less as a slave to tradition, but most of the gear is incredibly practical. Our only rules about clothing are No jeans, sneakers or camo. More about clothing here.

Bring layers! This is key.

As with footwear, clothing requirements are different as the season progresses. Early season can be VERY warm and we encourage guests to consider the weather. By mid to late October, we are certainly seeing snow. It is better to bring more than less. If you need to send luggage prior to your travel, we can gladly receive your package.

Covid-19

We have always been dedicated to safety for all guests and staff. We are committed to adapting our business and procedures for the 2020 season to reduce the chances to transmission of Covid-19. 

With deep canyons, open meadows, dramatic mountains and sweeping sage hills, the Idaho landscape is spectacular. But also remote. We run our business in an open landscape and most of our days are spent outside in this remote landscape.

We are a small, family business with the privilege of hosting our guests, and caring for our team. We understand that this health crisis is stressful and we want to provide support, whatever your needs may be. 

Customized Guest Experience

We will offer all guests customizable services based on personal preferences. Your hosting team will be in contact to confirm your preferences.

For example:

• Would you like to have a loader or would you prefer to load for yourself?
• Would you like to use your personal vehicle during your stay, including during the shoot day?
• Would you like us to clean your guns or would you rather clean them yourself?
• Would you prefer room service during your stay?

Preferences like this will be individual, but please know we will work with each guest individually in order to make you as comfortable as possible, while providing the service you expect during your visit to Blixt & Co.

How we are caring for our team:

• We have implemented daily sanitation protocols across all facilities and field work.
• We are operating under CDC recommended social distancing guidelines, ensuring that interactions among team member and between team members can happen at a safe distance.
• We have asked all team members to cancel nonessential travel (both domestically and internationally).
• Team members who have jobs based in our office and management departments are encouraged to work from home.
• We are providing safety products and equipmen

Daily Routines-Hospitality

• Daily clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces like tables, counters, doorknobs, light switches, handles, surfaces, toilets, faucets and sinks.
• Follow CDC recommended disinfecting procedures and processes
• On site touch-less hand sanitizer stations
• Use of masks, gloves and other protective equipment and discard them after each use.
• Serving meals outside when possible
• During your stay we will minimize the staff assisting your group at our property. We want to minimize the amount of employees moving in and out of the property to mitigate potential exposure.

Daily Routines-Field (Game Season)

• Daily disinfect all vehicles of transport for people and animals
• Drive planning for less vehicle use and more walking to secure social distancing in the field.
• Fewer handlers will be used during the drive, instead shifting to a key sweeping team to recover all game.
• Large parking areas to allow for social distancing
• Safety equipment provided to all team members
• On site touch-less hand sanitizer stations.

Daily Routines-Field (Game Season)

• Controllers and other frequently touched surfaces will be disinfected daily.
• Disinfectants will be available and all guests will be asked to wipe down controllers before and after use.
• Guest and staff will be limited to provide private use and mitigate exposure.
